MRC UHF CB Call Channel: Ch 27 (477.075MHz)

Many stations may be monitoring these channels at earlier times, feel free to put out calls earlier than thos listed above.  Feel free to arrange earlier or later calling times with other MRC participants, or non-participants, on these channels.

Can I also suggest on Saturday you monitor the MRC call channels throughout the whole day, and put out calls regularly between the official times.

As the MRC is primarily a CB radio event, no Amateur frequencies have been allocated.  If you are unable to relay the message via CB Radio please use Amateur frequencies if licenced to do so.

Procedures

·        There will be two messages.  Message 1 will be relayed from the lowest to the highest station number and Message 2 will be relayed from the highest to the lowest.

·        Message 1 will be sent to you by the station number below you.  Please relay Message 1 to the station number above you.  The reverse is true for Message 2.

·        Where relaying is not possible with your ‘neighbour’ please receive and send Messages 1 & 2 with any MRC stations that you can contact by line-of-sight, or as a last resort by skip or out-of-band.

·        Please arrange to go to another channel for the actual relay of the message.  Do not use the MRC call channels.

·        Feel free to recruit new line-of-sight stations to the MRC and include them in relaying of the message.  Each station you recruit should be given your callsign followed by the letter A, B, C, etc. as needed.  As a last resort consider skip stations.

·        Please advise other MRC stations (where possible) of any additional recruit, and ask them to relay the new station’s callsign and location to all other members.

·        You may wish to relay to other MRC stations additional information, such as your setup details, what UHF repeaters you can access, and what other MRC stations you have been able to contact.

·        Please complete the Mountain Report Form on the day, at your location.
